The ATYP studio presented a new digital animation short called XxDr. The short film explores the relationship between science and poetry. It features a small landscape with lots of pops of color and a 3D design.
The question that inspired the project was, "What happens when synthetic environments are infiltrated by natural phenomena...when science is invaded by poetry?" Essentially, do we have to choose mind over matter?
The film follows the animated journey of a figure that appears to be an atom. The atom creation bounces around geometric lands and breaks up its surrounding world with its graceful hops.
This film does not ask you to choose mind over matter but to watch both collide together in one world and attempt to exist together. Is there room for poetry in science? This animated short believes there is.
