While many games give players a fantastical setting to play in, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed series has always given players a historically accurate playground to learn and kill in equal measure.

The title, which has players parkour running and plotting assassinations through a meticulously detailed American Revolution setting, has already sold millions of copies this holiday season, and promises to sell many more between now and Christmas.

What sets the series apart from most games on the market is not only the setting, but the way that players interact with real historical figures and events. As an example, in the latest title, the main character Connor will accompany Paul Revere on his famous midnight ride, or help George Washington charge the fields of battle against the British.

The title is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Stats for New Assassin's Creed Offers Unique Historical Setting Trending: Older & Chilly
