Highmath exhibition, one of the most talked about and anticipated art events of 2008, is open now in Germany (31 Jan - 1 Mar, 2008). The cool thing however, is that Arkitip Magazine, a limited-edition, hand-numbered art book for which excellence in production is of primary importance; is producing its 44th issue as a catalog for the exhibition. So? Well it comes with a Viewmaster and image reels that allow you to enjoy the art images in 3D. Naturally, it has limited numbers of 1500.

I love this idea. Art/ trendy magazines in particular should adopt this. The reader needs one viewmaster only, which can be given with a subscription, then each issue comes with a few reels that contain 3D versions of the cool pictures inside the magazine. Plus, magazines can offset the viewmaster and reels cost by having a company sponser it and have its logo on the viewmaster, like what Nike did in this case.

The Highmath exhibition is presented by Arkitip in conjunction with Wood Wood and Nike. The title Highmath explains the relationship between the artists, which is multifaceted. Consisting primarily of work on paper including silk screens, lithographs and hand-done originals. Artists exhibit both existing and never before seen work.
