It is probably too soon to tell based on the current information on the Internet, but we can speculate that Apple is ready to produce their touchscreen netbook.

Orders have been placed to Apple parts manufacturers for specs that point towards the composition of a 9.7-inch touchscreen interface for the device.

The rumors that first arose were of the possibility of an Apple E-book which fell through fairly quickly. At this point, the Apple netbook has been priced (by Mr. Jobs) at $800. We will have to see what kind of punch this touchscreen netbook can actually throw, should it be ready by its rumored October date.
