The Kadokawa publishing group in Japan has released new anime book covers for classic Western fairy tales and novels. These new covers replace older editions with more Westernized art in favor of cute and colorful art that is meant to attract the large number of kids who read manga and watch anime in Japan.

Anne of Green Gables has been turned into an adorable doe-eyed child, while the Three Musketeers have suddenly become very pretty and gallant looking. Many of the young women characters have become seductive and almost doll-like. The child characters are cute, exaggerated and very energetic. These anime book covers are bright and colorful and bound to attract a new generation of young readers while reinventing the imagery of iconic fairy tale stories.
