The battle between cats and mice has gone medieval, thanks to armor maker Jeff de Boer and his suits of animal armor. Far from being a simple novelty, de Boer is experienced in making battle armor and decided to make each one historically accurate, painstakingly copying designs from Japan's Edo period, the Renaissance, Ancient Rome and the Middle Ages.
You can see the obvious work going into each one, and for a moment you can suspend your disbelief at what they're meant for and get lost in the way they fit into our mental images of warriors from each time period. As a warning though, de Boer cautions against trying to outfit your cat with one of these suits of animal armor -- he has "the scars to prove it."
