Typography experts at Swindler & Swindler redesigned the plastic American Express cards to feature a much more artisan and handmade aesthetic that focuses on calligraphy and embossed techniques. The cards are ornate and offer an unconventional way to view the plastic monetary devices for one of the brand's upcoming social media campaigns. Swindler & Swindler put together three different designs that showcase the American Express product in divergent graphic interpretation.

American Express cards are often simple, shiny and plastic without much individualism as the cards are mass-produced. The designs by Swindler & Swindler subvert this expectation entirely with three new styles that make use typographic penmanship and embossed detailing to give the cards a delicate, ornate and luxurious finish. Each card varies in pattern and print with a colored metallic background.
