Dov Charney, the generous founder of American Apparel, admits that he doubles the pay rate of his minimum wage employees and and will continue to do so no matter the location. Charney grants health insurance, English classes and even organizes for employees to be massaged. Sound too good to be true? Before you race over for an employee application, Charney has also admitted to sleeping with employees and showing up pant-less to interviews. With his penthouse-cover-decorated office aside, Charney has unsurprisingly been sued several times and now has his employees sign a release form. American Apparel currently manufactures all of its clothing out of Southern California and features the authentic casual t-shirt and signature polo that run about $20 a piece.
