Amber Lounge, that roving party venue that bursts onto the scene wherever there is a Grand Prix, is coming to Singapore. Amber Lounge was started six years ago by Sonia Irvine, whose brother Eddie was once a Formula One racer. Amber Lounge has only been in four cities - Monaco, Barcelona, Shanghai and Valencia. Singapore, site of the first-ever night race, gets to be the fifth city on the F1 calendar to host the party venue. For those lucky enough to land an invite (I’m not lucky, I’m just loved enough by friends to be put on the guest list) Amber Lounge opens its doors on September 26. For the remainder of the race weekend on September 27-28 the club is open to the public, but tickets aren’t cheap. A VIP table for 8 with unlimited drinks can be had for 3995 euro, and a VVIP table for 7250 euro. Still a tad steep? Try a standard VIP ticket at just 500 euro. But if race fans have already shelled out money for race tickets, what’s a few thousand dollars more? Amber Lounge and its champagne-til-dawn tradition has attracted such celebs as racer Michael Schumacher, U2’s Bono, and actor Kevin Spacey. References: amber-loungeFiled In: |
