Inspired by his previous Tim Burton-inspired Zoetrope Cake, this newly improved zoetrope cake by Alexandre Dubosc is much less eerie than the first one. In the video, we first see how the cake is made, then we see the cake twirl in its infinite valor. This cake, called the ‘Phytopage’ is one of many in his cake series.

Alexandre Dubosc makes his zoetrope cake by taking a stack of newspapers and cutting them to the style cake he wants. In this case, it has a large base with another smaller level on top. He covers it by pouring on top a thick and opaque brown syrup, then decorates it with continuous white lines and patterns that look infinite when spun. This cake makes a statement about the versatility in design and mathematical proportions, not to mention that it possesses an outstanding source of entertainment.
