The graphic prints of artist Alex Katz are in many ways reminiscent of actual photos. Originally from New York, Katz has spent a lifetime orchestrating paintings, paying painstaking attention to detail. Today, these sketches represent some of his most recent work.

A certain sense of motion is found in these Katz pieces. By depicting shadows, it appears as if many of his subjects are actually moving about amid sunsets, walks and boat rides.

Weighty dimension is also at the heart of these prints. The women depicted stand out of the pictures, tricking the eye into thinking that they are actually posing before cameras. Surreal aspects are at the same time also present, apparent in exaggerated facial features.
