Aleksey Baydakov Infuses Whimsy with Attitude

Moscow-based illustrator and character designer Aleksey Baydakov recently unveiled a slew of illustrations on his Behance page that sizzle with energy and zest.

From angry pirates to racing snails, Baydakov knows how to infuse whimsy and imagination with an attitude that occasionally borders on anger. This is an interesting combination. Often, illustration will be either lighthearted or dark. There is certainly a plethora of cutesy cartoons out there as well as a cornucopia of macabre, morose illustrations.

Baydakov keeps his art fun without getting corny. He manages to evoke zest while avoiding obnoxiousness. More than these aspects, the illustrator has a natural sense of humor that is palpable in his work. The characters he has come up with would be just as at home in a Pixar film as in a adult-oriented, eccentric cartoon. Stats for Intensely Irate Illustrations Trending: Older & Warm
