A.L.C. Pre-Fall 2014 wishes to evoke a feeling of quiet sophistication and slight vulnerability for the transitional season. Similar to a uniform, the designer envisions everyday staples that come with somber palettes of black and inky blues.

Any other pops of color like yellow are extremely precise and wisely placed on versatile pieces like shirt-dresses, pleated knee-length skirts and relaxed culottes.

The collection evokes a modest schoolgirl type of look, while pencil skirts with mid-thigh splits and tailored jumpsuits feature a twisted, open back. So, although the collection is relatively conservative, there are moments of exposure that are tastefully and strategically placed. With hints of artisanal embroidery and a clean aesthetic, this transitional collection achieves a fresh sign off from summer with a romantic sense of travel.
