Drawing inspiration from a popular Italian treat, Starbucks recently announced the addition of new Affogato-Style Frappuccinos to its menu. Hot on the heels of its new granitas, the espresso-topped drinks give consumers another way to enjoy their favorite Starbucks Frappuccinos.

The new Affogato-Style Frappuccino is a hybrid coffee treat inspired by a traditional Italian treat. In Italy, dinner is usually followed by a scoop of gelato topped with a shot of hot espresso. The Starbucks version of this dessert consists of an extra shot of espresso poured over its existing Frappuccino blended beverages. As the company describes in a press release for the new drink: "the hot espresso mingles with the icy Frappuccino to create creamy pockets of coffee."

For those looking for an extra dose of caffeine, these new espresso-topped Frappuccinos are the perfect choice.
