While major cities like Paris, Rome and New York are perceived as the breeding grounds of art and culture, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp raises the stakes.

Huge names like Vincent Van Gogh to Luc Tymans have been produced there, creating a longstanding tradition that was established in 1663. It has recently celebrated its 350th anniversary in 2013 along side its famous fashion department as it turned 50. This department continually raises the bar for experimentation and creativity and its alumni, like Dries Van Noten, are living proof.

The anniversary boasts the Mode Museum, which is attached to the academy, combining videos, photography, graphic material and the story of evolution as told by professors and students. The exhibitions display an array of talent and master craft that paves an incredible path for the future.
