Designer Jason Gershenson-Gates launches a new line of jewelry made out of recycled watch and light bulb parts on on his Web site, A Mechanical Mind.

Fascinated with the mechanical world ever since childhood, artist Jason Gershenson-Gates disassembles old watch parts and light bulbs and reassembles them into beautiful works of art. Creating stunning creatures like scorpions, spiders, dragonflies and other insects, what are often considered repulsive bugs have been transformed into intricate steampunked creatures. These one-of-a-kind pieces have been created by watches and items that he collects from around the world. Due to the fragility and intricacies of the pieces, each one was handcrafted in one sitting, which meant the artist sat for at least 10 hours each.

The site A Mechanical Mind also features other pieces that feature decomposed mechanical parts as well. Stats for Steampunk Insect Jewelry Trending: Older & Warm
