A nylon 8 capsule inside the injection blow moulded HDPE*) cap of the Volcano Lemon Burst and Lime Burst bottles releases zest as the lemon or lime juice passes through. It is like getting a little zest of freshly squeezed lemon or lime, as the nylon capsule contains the oil squeezed from the rind of the lemon and keeps it separate from the juice. Patented and exclusively manufactured for Dream Foods Inc, the green/yellow injection blow moulded dispenser cap has a diameter of 20 mm and sits on top of a HDPE squeezable bottle shaped as a lemon or lime. The break-away security flap provides tamper evidence and must be removed to open the lid on top of the dispenser, revealing the pouring orifice. The fruit-shaped bottles hold 100 ml and 200 ml. The factory near the Mount Etna in Sicily does not only manufacture the packaging components, with exception of the labels which are printed somewhere else in Italy, but fills the bottles as well with the pasteurised juice of the lemons from Sicily or the limes from Mexico. A specially designed filling line fills the capsules with the lemon or lime zest and assembles them with the HDPE cap. Dream Foods designed a trilingual, leaf-shaped, laminated paper hang tag. “It’s really a NAFTA label targeted to all of North America,” explains Adriana Kahane, ceo/founder of Dream Foods, “with French for sale in Canada, and Spanish to reach the Hispanic consumers, who are frequent users of lime.” The hang tag design enables it to slip over the neck of the container. *) HDPE - High density, (0.95-0.965) polyethylene. Has much higher stiffness, higher temperature resistance and much better water vapour barrier properties than LDPE, but it is considerably hazier. Filed In: |
