We’ve seen a number of fully integrated universal remotes, such as the Logitech Harmony, but they tend to lack style. David Chacon has a design in mind for a universal remote that would exude design AND function. The flash capable device would display every thing from channel listings to elaborate menus, and manage your entire house- even turning on that microwave or dim the bedroom lights. Having a roomy touchscreen interface, the right frequencies and support from outside companies, the device may well craft custom graphic user interfaces for a product, too. The devise is called “Universal Remote” and for now it is just a perception and won’t be able to make it to production in the near future, but the concept is really something I can appreciate.
