Adam Lister's '8-Bit Watercolors' capture the graphics of old Atari and Nintendo video games from his youth. The artist paints quirky watercolor interpretations of pop culture icons, art world happenings and famous paintings, but this particular offering brings something a little different to the table.

Trying to describe his style is a little tricky because it's not quite digital and not quite Cubist either. If there are themes his works have in common, they’re humor, nostalgia and the recalling of moments from the recent past like comic book and Star Wars references.

Lister has several limited edition prints up for grabs on his website and his work most recently appeared as part of a group show at Catalyst Gallery. While he's turned several pieces into 3D-printed objects, he's an artist to keep tabs on for the neat future.
