In this overwhelming time of cut-backs and economic crisis, over-sized designs have never been more popular. Call it a reaction or, more exactly, an ‘over-reaction’ to the fiscal downturns, but big is in! The world of fashion gives us incredibly large jewellery, head-wear, sunglasses and even dresses with giant faces printed right on the fabric. Home décor goes Goliath with massive fish lighting, colossal stone cushions, big fish pillows and speakers large enough to surely deafen you. Advertising and exhibits are all about over-sizing—shoes you can’t wear, humongous toilet paper rolls and knitted rabbits seen from space.
