The 215 Chrystie Hotel is a new design from a collaboration between Herzog & de Meuron and John Pawson. Overall the building takes on an industrial feel on the outside, with distinct concrete and metal sections. Inside, however it takes on a more elegant feel.
This contrast between the exterior and interior is part of what makes the building so intriguing. It's almost as if everything is unexpected when one walks in that helps to give the 215 Chrystie Hotel an edge. With so many hotels in the area, hotel developers certainly need to think about what will make them stand out above the others. Another bonus about this design is the floor to ceiling windows, allowing guests to have stunning views.
