The siphon bar may be pricey but it makes coffee in an uber cool way. Water is heated below with a halogen light, the vapours are forced up into a canister containing coffee grinds. Once removed from the heat it is that stirred to create a “whirlpool” effect, siphoning the coffee back down into the pot. This process take anywhere from 45 to 90 seconds and can only be seen at the Blue Bottle Café in San Francisco, seeing how it’s the only halogen-powered model in the US.
