Among the most infamous examples of see-through design are the transparent, underwear-showing garments that A-listers such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Teri Hatcher, Charlize Theron, Madonna, Rihanna, and many others have worn at red carpet events.

However, there are other slightly less titillating transparent technological advancements and futuristic designs that have created their share of buzz and excitement.

For example, there are the flexible and see-through batteries in development at Waseda University. There are also the totally transparent polycarbonate ‘Louis Ghost’ chairs. And mention should also be made of the Google Video campaign see-through billboards and the conceptual transparent cell phones.

As you’ll gather from the designs below, peekaboo is the name of the game!
