After 4 years of work and more data than the Human Genome Project a team of 19 mathemeticians mapped a 248 dimensional object that is actually symetrical.  The structure called E8 is comprised of 205,263,363,600 objects on a matrix but each object is not just a number but rather an equation. (look intelligent! put your hand on your chin, nod, and hmmm)  Mathemeticians hope this information will help researchers working on string theory projects.  Read the whole article linked below for more juicy details.
