Black National Anthem (4 Videos) - Singer Replaces Words of 'Star-Spangled Banner'
Before I listened to the actual video, I was offended by the title "Black National Anthem". Rene and her husband probably aren't the ones who gave it that title, because if you actually listen to the words, it's very touching. She formed that song to a melody that she(we) obviously admire(s). I commend her for her courage, in these times that all Americans are facing and I believe she did it for us. Look back at the changes that our nation has endured and how pathetic it is that some tired politician goes on the over-rated media and claims she owes us apology. I'm sorry for your ignorance. There's an apology. By the way who is apologizing for gas prices that are driving my family and friends out of their hard earned homes and any normal way of living.
I have never caught on to racism and I teach my children that we all thrive from the same beating heart, no matter what our appearance. I just found a lot of comfort and love in the song that she sang, so thank you Rene for reaching out in this time where so many are afraid to even speak a simple opinion, let alone sing a song of grace. May the "big guy" bless you all, Michelle
