1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa is Hotter Now Than in its Heyday

On May 17, 2009, the most expensive racing car in the world will go on the RM Maranello auction block.
The legendary 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa is the most stunning car I’ve seen so far, simply the best, most elegant design in racing history. With pontoon-fendered bodywork sculpted by Scaglietti, a black lacquer finish and red accents, it creates for a one of a kind driving experience.

The unique race machine captured ten victories in races from 1958 to 1961, including a class win at Le Mans with Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien. In the eyes of the experts, the amazing 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa will probably set a new world record on auction, exceeding the $21.7 million it took to buy a 250 GTO last year.
