The ease in making truffle-sized stick sweets is almost as attractive as the novelty aspect of the delicate dessert.

These bite-sized confections come in any shape or color -- only the size and general sweet taste is constant. The stick configuration allows bakers to be more creative, with many opting to fashion their treats with detailed faces, as opposed to a simple sprinkle-dusted chocolate ball. Possible styles include a beach ball batch, an army of Star Wars clones or even a nest of cute bird pops.

The rise of the cake pop may be accredited to society's increasing attention to their waistlines due to health and aesthetic concerns, but whatever the reason, bakers and dessert-lovers are rejoicing!
