The talk of the town this morning is Stump, the Sussex Spaniel that took Best in Show at the famed Westminster Dog Show. Our hunger for celebrity has grown such that even animals are privy to the consequences of fame.
No celebrity animal knows these consequences better than Knut, the polar bear whose mother rejected him at birth and was raised at the Berlin Zoo. His life was the subject of a tell-all book penned by the son of Knut’s keeper. Stump the Sussex Spaniel is already 10 years old.
