Sacrilegious nuns and inappropriate naughty religious toys are just some of the ways today’s modern world has sensualized religion.

Religious icons have become sexualized in an effort to generate a buzz surrounding specific brands or topics. The idea of sensualized religion has caused uproar amongst many religious groups, which in turn generates more hype. From rubber-clad nuns to pope condoms, the more potentially offensive the product is, the more hype it will most likely create.

Sensualized religion relies heavily on the idea of blasphemy, which in turn can either hurt or help a brand’s popularity. These examples of sensualized religion demonstrate how scandalous pop culture creatives have gotten with this innocent topic.
