From activist fashion to shocking photo shoots, this viral form of expression allows us to cope with anger, hurt and frustration through art. Many of these innovations use the oil spill to raise awareness for environmental issues, but others are just made from everyday folks.

Implications - Events that penetrate the media provide excellent opportunities for businesses to react to their newfound presence. Regardless of the positive or negative nature of the event, businesses should consider creating products that mimic or reference these events that consumers will immediately recognize and digest.
