With iconic fashion houses like Chanel and Marc Jacobs sending plaid fashion down the runway for the Fall 2013 season, it is no surprise that the Scottish fever is quickly catching on.
Fashion designers are borrowing elements from Scotland’s culture like tartans, plaids and the deep tones of Oxblood red for their collections. With so many variations in color and pattern that make up a plaid pattern, there are endless possibilities for fashion designers to embrace. The classic pattern is incredibly versatile. It can look crisp and regal on a blazer, or quite casual when paired with other grunge-inspired garments like a leather jackets.
Plaid prints have been around for centuries and it is constantly being reinterpreted for men and women. The chic, versatile pattern is one that will be around for many more seasons to come.
