Mention anything about wind-turbines as potential sources of clean-energy and you’ll likely hear something about them being eyesores. Not any more! Metropolis Magazine’s 2009 Next Generation contest produced an entry called Wind-it. French designers Nicola Delon, Julien Choppin and Raphael Menard ingeniously inserted wind turbines into the existing frames of electrical transmission towers - taking an already ugly view and piggy-backing on to an existing infrastructure of power-lines.
