The Noose Hanging Lamp

Everywhere you turn you read about the credit crisis, from oil prices to the federal reserve cutting its federal funds rate. So it was inevitable that these social changes would find their way into art and design.

Take the Noose Lamp for example. It is the perfect Halloween prop, or a twisted gift for that person who lost his job in the credit crisis and trying, disastrous economy. Granted that person has a good, dry sense of humor and an appreciation for sarcasm.

The lamp design is a living contradiction of the hope and enlightenment that light usually refers to with the morbid shape of the noose which evokes the notion of suicide or punishment.

Semantics aside, this is one cool lamp that is sure to spark a conversation at a party.
