From Inner City Coding Workshops to Device-Developing Kits

Even though school is out for the summer, these July 2015 education innovations reflect how kids are continuing to learn even outside of the classroom and how digital tools can be used in the digital age.

Many of the July 2015 education ideas are about reaching minorities within the population, including inner city kids and the Hispanic community. While some organizations are ensuring children in poorer neighborhoods aren't neglected when it comes to STEM education and coding, other academic institutions are making it easier for Spanish speakers to gain access to post-secondary education online.

People are also thinking about those in other parts of the world where poverty and related barriers are preventing young people from going to school any time of year. This is reflected in a number of philanthropic campaigns, from social good currency to education-endorsing baskets.
