Internet Mocking, From Photobombing to Photobloging
Jacqueline Parrish — October 17, 2009 — Pop Culture
Internet mocking, in today's society, is a form of social acceptance. People bond over a shared laugh at one person's hideous outfit, while others find great joy in online viral mocking. People will sell out their parents, friends and significant others all for a laugh.
While it's often a bit on the mean side, there's no denying that Internet mocking makes fun times for others.
Implications - Viral videos not only allow viewers a laugh, but also allows them a sense of unity amongst each other. Consumers are able to all be a part of the inside joke and understand references made. Companies can use viral videos to boost their brand; if they produce one successfully, consumers will constantly be reminded of their image and values.
