The Google Glass release is finally upon us, but the many other ancestor high-tech spectacles deserve their own spectacle.

Google Glass may be able to do a lot of things, but can it open a bottle of beer? One of the most difficult things to include with high-tech glasses is style. Combining functionality with style is always a struggle, but I would say that it can sometimes be pulled off quite well.
So don't let the Google Glass release have you forget its predecessors. A lot of them are still as useful as they were when they came out.
