From Pinned Map Masterpieces to Spherical Photographic Displays
Sarah Robson — June 8, 2012 — Art & Design
The 107 globe innovations show the vast amount of objects that are spherical in our world. Each geometrical figure is significant in its own way, but spheres are especially so. Spherical objects cover the smallest surface area for their given volume compared to any other object. Spherical objects can include globes, furniture, glassware, toys, lighting and speakers.
These circular objects take an old idea, and reproduce it into a new item that people want to buy. Spherical objects are easier to move than other objects with their rounded surface, which makes them a standard shape for children's toys. These circular objects show how ancient objects can be recreated into something different; whether it is a round rubik's cube or graffitied world globe.
