Hurricane Ike caused gas prices in Houston to rise 20 cents a gallon this week. In Canada, gas prices went up about 13 cents, putting some pump prices at $1.36 a litre, and these gas prices are only supposed to go up.
Why? Well, when storms like Hurricane Ike hit the Gulf—and this summer has been a rough one for that—gas stations prepare for shortages and supply disruption.
