These health and wellness initiatives put a particular focus on elderly health. Outside of dedicated residences and senior care programs, the elderly are being looked after with everything from wearables to monitoring devices and apps. Backed by the power of technology, these aids serve medication reminders, injury prevention tools and more.

In addition to a number of products, programs and services that address the needs of an individual, entire communities have been introducing ways to improve life for senior citizens. For instance, Singapore's Bishan-Toa Payoh now features a number of public fitness stations, which are used in training programs specifically geared towards seniors. Okotoks, Alberta is another great example, as it is implementing community-wide training to better accommodate a population of people living with dementia.
