Real Everest Canisters as Art

Inspired by a National Geographic documentary, artist Jeff Clapp creates these unique bells, bowls and ornaments out of recycled oxygen cylinders that were discarded on Mt. Everest.

According to the website Bells From Everest, at which these amazing trash-to-treasure products are sold, each piece is crafted on a lathe with fine detail work to transform the weathered cylinders into desirable art with a deep resounding tone.

A lovely mark of provenance is that the oxygen cylinders bells still bear the manufacturers’ serial numbers and fill dates.
