EchoStar 922 Features Touchpad Channel Navigation (CES 2009)

The EchoStar 922’s contribution to CES 2009 is the omission of traditional number keys from its remote control. Instead of pressing the number buttons to change the channel, you’ll use a laptop-like touch pad to navigate to your channel selection on the screen.

The revolutionary user interface on the EchoStar 922 utilizes movie poster graphics, widget-based menus, tiles, and cursor-like navigation, according to CNN. The EchoStar 922’s menu can also display RSS feeds for constant updates on stock quotes, sports scores, weather reports, and news headlines.
