Tailored military jackets have been in vogue for a few seasons now, but this powder blue Balmain jacket is a refreshing twist on the masculine style. In fact, Balmain’s whole Spring 2009 collection, with its stiffly structured shoulders and rhinestone-heavy frogging was fit for a holiday soldier toy.

The sloppy-chic, asymmetrical jackets were paired with tattered denim, a nice contrast for the usually posh French design house.

The retro appeal in Christophe Decarnin’s collection was enhanced with old school Madonna tracks, confirming he sought his sartorial inspiration for the mega-shoulder pads from the 80s.
