In a word: People. What has been inspiring me a lot lately is our global society. People all around the world are sticking up for human rights and pushing their governments for social and political change. Sometimes we don't realize how lucky we have it; our problems often seem huge, when in reality they are minuscule. The Egyptian revolution really opened my eyes to the world of journalism, and allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for journalists who put their lives on the line, to make other people's voices heard. A story is a powerful thing. It can make you laugh, cry, or anger you, but in every story there is a lesson to be learned. Social media has allowed anyone to have a voice. It has empowered a global community of citizens to hear one another, and learn from one another as well. In essence, people inspire me! From the activist, to the painter, to the plumber, we all make the world what it is.
