Designers create shelter targeted at those living on the streets
Implications - Higher costs of living, a shortage of affordable housing and elevated poverty are all contributing to an increase in homelessness, especially in urban populations. The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty estimates that up to 2 million people in the United States are homeless. This staggering figure points to a signficant need for innovations like mobile and convertible housing to help this growing population, which may include people in unexpected demographic groups, such as students, who can’t afford even the cheapest of rental accomodations.
