Designer diffusion lines cater to more practical fashionistas
Implications - During the credit crunch, designer diffusion lines were all about offering cost-conscious consumers with budget versions of designer collections. However, despite an increasing number of consumers loosening their purse strings, there are even more designer diffusion lines today than ever before. One reason may be the diluted designs—unlike their high-fashion designer counterparts, which are typically heavily embellished and extremely eccentric, cheap-chic fashion provides style that is more wearable and practical for the day to day.
