Personalized retail and social shopping have been on the rise, and the Zappos ‘PinPointing’ app is a prime example of how brands are leveraging these burgeoning retail trends.
The Zappos ‘PinPointing’ app is an online initiative from the fashion goods retailer that provides shoppers with product suggestions based on what they post on Pinterest. According to Popsop, PinPointing “is designed to draw parallels between users’ personal pins and those of other Pinterest users.” From these parallels, the brand provides the user with product recommendations related to its wide assortment of clothing, shoes, accessories and more.
To illustrate the Zappos ‘PinPointing’ app, Zappos has added product recommendations based on what ‘Featured Pinners,’ famous fashion designers and stylists, have pinned. The featured pinners include the likes of Nina Garcia, Refinery 29 and Lauren Conrad, among others.
