Performance Playwright Projects
Write Out Front Allows Passersby to Watch Authors Pen New Plays

{SummaryTitle}

Write Out Front is an interesting project in which up-and-coming playwrights are put on display for two hours a day as they pen new plays. A three-week performance piece, so to speak, taking place on 40th Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York, these creatives sit in the storefront window of the Drama Book Shop so that people can watch while they work.

“Created to bring awareness to the time, space, resources and support that playwrights need to work and grow,” according to the mastermind behind this movement, Micheline Auger of Theaterspeak, Write Out Front offers a unique experience to those interested in writing, performance pieces and plays. Interestingly enough, a screen shot of their words will also be visible to passersby. It starts in September.
