Whether a brand identity designer is striving for loud decoration or clean minimalism, the goal is generally to get the particular product noticed. Wodka Wanessa packaging exercises both of these strategies in its carrier case and in its individual vessels.
Most notably, Gerlinde Gruber of Austria chose to create a unique cardboard tote that can hold a set of three bottles, one of each variety of vodka. Instead of opting for an easily mass-produced shape, she went with the silhouette of a Matryoshka nesting doll. A semicircular opening functions as a handle and forms the top of the character’s head; her face is illustrated on the printed lower half. Her clothing accessories are suggested by the triangular and scalloped cutouts that reveal the plainly labeled containers of Wodka Wanessa packaging.
