The VMK ‘Way-C’ tablet created by Congolese entrepreneur Verone Mankou is looking to break into the tablet market in a big way. As the first African-designed tablet on the market, the Way-C hopes to bring change to the continent’s technological backwardness.
Run off of the Android database, the $300 tablet looks to rival the options on the market today. With a 7-inch touch screen, 800x400 resolution and six-hour battery, the Way-C is highly functional. Since it runs off the Android base, it also has access to hundreds of thousands of apps, music and television.
Though arguably it can do as much or less than the main competitors on the market currently, it is a major step for African technology and a great sign for their entrepreneurial sector.
