Film-Enabled Social Media Announcements
The 'Video on Instagram' Feature Rivals Twitter's Vine App

By: Jennifer Gosnell (Rockstar) Jun 21, 13

Previously, if you wanted to post a quick video you’d post it through Vine, but now, video on Instagram is out to change that. The Facebook-owned company is taking on Twitter’s Vine app with their own video-enabled app feature on the already mega-popular Instagram.

The video on Instagram feature also ups the ante over Vine with 15 seconds of video being able to be recorded vs. Vine’s 6 seconds. When the Instagram update is released, the way you record your video will be largely the same as taking a picture, except you click the movie icon.

Instagram’s official announcement reads “Over the past two and a half years, Instagram has become a community where you can capture and share the world’s moments simply and beautifully. Some moments, however, need more than a static image to come to life.”
